Turn Their Minecraft Obsession Into Real Modding Skills

In this two day workshop, children move from playing Minecraft to creating their own content for Minecraft Java Edition.
Using education friendly modding software, they will:

• Design custom items, tools, armour and simple weapons
• Build their own blocks and effects for the game
• Create fun mini games like Hide and Seek, Spleef and simple battle arenas
• Learn how events, conditions and variables control what happens in their world

The software uses a visual, drag and drop style interface that is used in classrooms and STEM workshops around the world, so children can get started with no previous coding experience while still learning real programming concepts.

What Your Child Will Experience

Across the two days, your child will:

• Plan and build their own small Minecraft mod project
• Test and tweak their creations inside a safe, offline Minecraft world
• Work in pairs or small groups, sharing ideas and play testing each other’s games
• Learn problem solving, logic and perseverance while doing something they love

If you have Minecraft Java Edition at home, they will be able to take their project files with them so they can keep experimenting after the workshop (with a little grown up help for installation).
