Frequently Asked Questions

“We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology.”
– Carl Sagan –

Are your clubs continuous with different content?

Do you offer a program for older kids?

Do you offer CCR too?

Do you supply all the equipment?

Absolutely! It’s why we refer to ourselves as a club. We are always working on different experiences for our club members.

Many kids have been with us since the Start!

We are about to offer a program for the 13 to 15 year old age group in Canberra. Sign up to our newsletter or contact us for more info.

Unfortunately as far as we know, there is NO orginisation such as ours who can offer CCR.

The main reason is we provide tuition to kids as a primary role and not Child Care.

There is also big difference between us and Child Care in terms of Experience in our offerings.

The awesome answer here is YES!

Your kids will use our laptops, robots, software and unplugged equipment!

We do however sometimes ask for kids to bring things like batteries, USB sticks etc… for club projects.

Do your Leaders have First Aid and WWVP?

Do you have Policies?

What does "Block Crafters" actually mean?

All Leaders at Block Crafters will have a WWVP card on them at all times!

Leaders will also have First Aid. Leaders will have quick access to any medical info you provide us and adhere to certain parent requests.

Yes we do, even though we are not required by Law to have them.

Policies ensure that in most events, a streamline process is followed by everyone.

They serve as a positive guideline. We also follow parent/health action plans for certain situations which require them.

Well, “Crafter” as you already may know is someone who makes or invents things.

The “Block” portion in our name is best described by Wikipedia as “computer programming, a block or code block is a lexical structure (basic set of rules that specify how you write programs) of sourcecode which is grouped together.

Blocks consist of one or more declarations and statements. … Blocks are fundamental to structured programming, where control structures are formed from blocks.”
